NPS project shortlisted in Building Controls Industry Awards

Our Hampton Court office and specialist building services engineers Smith & Byford, have jointly entered for the Energy Management Award in the 2010 Building Controls Industry Awards and have subsequently been shortlisted, which means our entry is through to the public online voting stage. The entry describes the innovative HVAC solutions provided for the Guildhall 2 building, owned and occupied by The Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames:

‘When addressing energy efficiency and comfort issues at the Guildhall building of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames (RBK), Smith & Byford Ltd and RBK’s professional consultants NPS South East Ltd worked together to use innovative solutions which were best overall for the environment, such as night purging. These greatly reduced fossil fuel consumption, CO2 emissions, running costs and expensive plant which would also have consumed significant energy in its manufacture and installation’.

The Building Controls Industry Association is dedicated to raising awareness of the critical importance of control and building management systems in buildings.  Its awards are a very effective way of promoting and rewarding the excellence of people, products, systems and projects.

The winners will be announced at a Gala Awards Ceremony on Thursday 13th May.
