NPS designer completes work on P&R bus livery

One of the NPS graphic design team, Donna Youngs has recently completed the new livery for a fleet of Park and Ride buses operating in Norwich.

The vehicles have been given new pastel shades as part of a revamp which coincided with the beginning of new contracts for the service.

The new colours are:

Airport: light blue

Costessey: light green.
Harford: blue.
Postwick: red.
Sprowston: lilac.
Thickthorn: pink.

Chris Limbach, assistant operations manager at Norfolk County Council, said: “We used the retendering exercise as an opportunity to refresh what we were offering. We’ve retained the identity but the colours are more pastel shades. Mr Limbach said that they’d also introduced double deckers providing increased capacity, reducing the need to stand at peak times, and allowing for future growth, including the planned expansion of the car park at Postwick.

The changeover to the different deliveries and vehicles started in April when the new five-year bus service contracts began. Buses to Costessey, Harford and Thickthorn are operated by Konectbus Ltd and the Airport, Postwick and Sprowston are operated by NPS’ sister company Norse Commercial Services. The contracts were let last autumn, saving the county council £720,000 by reducing the bus operating subsidy to around £1.6m and the overall council support for Norwich park & ride to £2.9m.
